Our main beneficiaries this year are the Ernie Els - Els for Autism Foundation that will be starting a culinary program on campus and be open to all individuals on the spectrum. As well as, Future 6 Helping Hand Fund; this local organization provides free action sports camps - Surfing, Skating, Fishing - for kids with special needs and at-risk youth.

Chef Cassel can’t remember a time he wasn’t in the kitchen. He credits his love for cooking to his parents, who started him on the path early in life as a young boy in Tulsa, Okla.

“I grew up cooking,” he said. “My mom and dad were great cooks and the majority of my inspiration. We used to pick food out of the garden and make it into lunch or dinner right away. Mom would say go pick this or that and within an hour, we’d be eating it. I still put dishes on Hullabaloo’s menu that my mom made when I was growing up.”

Blake’s cheffage story is one of humble beginnings starting with strong parental encouragement to follow his dreams. While in high school Malatesta worked in a variety of family run restaurants learning as much as he could, working through the ranks. Having found his passion, after graduating high school Malatesta secured a position within the corporate structure at Darden Restaurants as a regional culinary trainer.

During this year he worked in back kitchens throughout Europe and Eastern Europe gaining much hands-on experience. After returning home Malatesta worked as a sous chef at Saddlebrook Resort in Tampa.

Blake began his culinary journey at 50 Ocean in April 2012 and has set his sights on making 50 Ocean one of the hottest restaurants of Florida. Blake's new venture is M.I.A which stands for Modern. Inventive. Authentic. and is opening in West Delray around November.

Executive Chef Clay Carnes, one of the hottest chef’s in Palm Beach County, announces his new concept that he says will catch fire within the scene. Cholo Soy Cocina, currently the doors are set to open in Summer 2016, will be showcasing a new kind of Latin street food to the community.

“Cholo Soy is our brand’s name. "Cholo" being a slang term in Ecuador for the indigenous people. It also means something “mixed or ghetto.” I came across it written on a wall in a Peruvian restaurant. It reflects our cuisine here as "mixed" and indigenous or authentic,” says Carnes.

Manning the Kitchen at C.W.S Bar + Kitchen is Jessie Steele, who made his name in the Delray Beach area over the past 8 years. Guests will savor a wide range of worldly selections featuring sharing plates and nightly entree specials. His menu will be the perfect pairing to our cocktails, wines and beers. Jessie grew up in Delray Beach Florida, inspired by Italian and Brazilian cooking from his Grandmothers. After graduating from the Florida Culinary Institute, he worked for Chef Nick Morfogen at 32 East and Chef Ellis Cooley at 3rd & 3rd. His influencers Julia Child, Graham Kerr, and Emeril Legasse inspired him to create scratch dishes that are the backbone of the C.W.S. menu. Jessie is known for his interesting twist on vegetables. When he's not cooking, you'll find him playing his Fender Jazz bass with his ska reggae band around town.

Chef Miguel Santiago, executive chef at Hilton West Palm Beach, brings his 20 years of culinary experience to the hotel’s esteemed team of food and beverage professionals. As executive chef, Santiago will add an element of creativity to menus to welcome guests, groups and locals at Hilton West Palm Beach.

While focusing on Florida flavors and fresh produce, he also includes techniques from his Latin background, using traditional Spanish herbs and spices. Always working with local farms in South Florida to ensure that all fruits, vegetables and herbs are at the highest possible standard.

Before joining Hilton West Palm Beach, Chef Santiago helmed the kitchen at The Capital Hilton in Washington D.C. and El Conquistador, a Waldorf Astoria hotel, among other esteemed hotels and restaurants. His love for food came at a young age while cooking with his family restaurant in Puerto Rico.

While in school working towards his double major in finance and information systems, Jeremy developed a passion for art, utilizing food as his outlet. It was spurred on by the increasingly popular Food Network and fueled by a part time job he took at the best Italian restaurant in town.

Jeremy held the highly coveted position, Saucier, at Restaurant Daniel. One year later, Jeremy moved to Palm Beach to assist in the early stages of Daniel’s Café Boulud. It was here in South Florida; Jeremy launched myfreshchef.com, market-inspired meals delivered daily throughout Palm Beach County.

He also appeared on A&E, Lifetime, HGTV and on the top rated Food Network show, CHOPPED. He was also awarded “Hot Chef” of the year by the National Restaurant Association in 2011 for his inspiring flavor combinations and adventurous use of ingredients.

Chef Bonavita has worked in the kitchens of Todd English, Grant Achatz and Graham Elliot. With experience in Boston, New York City, Chicago’s ultra-modernist, Michelin starred Alinea, Miami Beach, New York City and recently Palm Beach. Chef Bonavita is now helming the kitchen at 50 Ocean in Delray Beach.
